What is HubSpot Email?

HubSpot Email is an email service provider (ESP) that handles sending infrastructure, IP reputation management, and delivery feedback for email campaigns, transactional messages, or both. Their sending reputation and your domain's authentication configuration are the two primary drivers of inbox placement when using HubSpot Email.

HubSpot handles authentication through connected sending domains. Adding DKIM CNAME records and configuring SPF to include HubSpot's servers are required for proper authentication. HubSpot's CRM integration means email engagement data feeds directly into contact records.

How It Works

When you send through HubSpot Email, messages leave via their SMTP servers or API. The receiving server sees HubSpot Email's sending IPs in the Received headers. For your domain to pass DMARC, you must configure HubSpot Email's DKIM keys and SPF include: in your DNS. Without this, email sent through HubSpot Email fails authentication for your domain.

HubSpot Email uses shared IP infrastructure with dedicated IPs available on higher tiers. HubSpot automatically processes unsubscribes and bounces. Their deliverability tools include health scores and sending recommendations based on CRM engagement data.

Why It Matters

Your ESP affects deliverability through their shared IP pool quality, feedback loops and bounce handling, and ease of authentication configuration. HubSpot Email's tight CRM integration is its primary advantage — engagement data flows automatically into lead scoring and workflows.

Regardless of ESP, the fundamentals are yours to control: domain authentication, list hygiene, engagement rates, and complaint rates have more long-term deliverability impact than the ESP choice itself.
